Teachery Affiliate Program Review
What is Teachery?
If you’ve ever been interested in building a course that can teach your readers anything, whether that be affiliate marketing or something else, Teachery should be right up your alley.
But like this, other people from your audience may be interested in teaching their followers similar things. Even though Teachery is somewhat newer compared to other platforms, particularly those that we will discuss toward the end of this article, its biggest selling point is the course builder.
Apparently, it takes the cake when it comes to ease of use, which is why anyone out there, regardless of their technical skills, can put together a course on any topic with as little effort as possible.
The interface is drag & drop, so that’s one less thing to worry about. There are plenty of other features that you might be able to sell to your blog readers depending on what you have in mind.
Becoming a Teachery affiliate
The trouble with some affiliate programs, and that unfortunately includes this one, is that they are self-managed. By contrast, others rely on separate affiliate networks to manage everything related to their affiliates, including payments and support.
You will have to join the Teachery affiliate program directly on the brand’s own website. While that might not be a huge drawback for people who do not use a lot of programs to monetize their content, it can be a significant disadvantage for seasoned affiliates who might have dozens of websites.
The good thing is that the affiliate page that you will find on the company website is pretty straightforward when it comes to everything you should be aware of. You do have to own a Teachery account in order to become an affiliate, so ideally, you should have a subscription and pay for it on a regular basis.
Fortunately, the signup process is very fast and straightforward, so you do not have to expect for more than a week to get your reply. There are some terms and conditions that you should check out just to make sure you don’t risk getting booted out of the program, but that’s to be expected with any other option out there.
In most cases, some of the requirements that you have to abide by in this sense are normal, meaning that you are not allowed to engage in any shady practices like misrepresenting the brand, producing all sorts of incentives for people to get a subscription, or using the name in your PPC ads.
Teachery features to recommend to your audience
Some of the most attractive features that you can suggest to your readership range from the obvious course builder, but depending on the subscription, people can actually build up to 1,000 different ones.
When producing a course material, folks are allowed to embed content from a variety of platforms, such as video ones like YouTube or use music and other free or paid content from Soundcloud. Integration with Slideshare, Canva, as well as Google Slides is also available.
The Course Style Editor is another eye-catching feature as it allows people complete control over how they want to organize their courses in terms of lessons and design.
And since individuals have to buy the courses, it’s a good thing that Teachery also integrates with Stripe. The option to create promo codes and various payment plans is also available in this case.
Additionally, the platform works with all sorts of membership services such as Zapier, as well as mailing services such as MailChimp and ConvertKit.
In terms of tracking, the dashboard is very easy to work with since it allows folks to find out just how many people have bought their courses over the past week, how many lessons were viewed, along with an average course progress. Needless to say, the total revenue is clearly displayed, too, depending on whichever period of time you choose.
How much can you earn with the Teachery affiliate program?
Before we move on to the commission rates, since that is what everyone reading this post is most interested in, we’d like to note the value of the plans that now exist on the Teachery website.
At the time we’re writing this, the monthly plan is charged at $49 per month with zero fees, which means that this platform is among the most affordable ones in terms of course builders. The yearly plan is billed at just $470 per year for the whole 12 months, so there’s a significant discount there.
We’d also like to note that a 14-day free trial exists, so people can try out the features before deciding to commit to any of these plans.
Getting back to the matter at hand, as a Teachery affiliate, you can make 25% out of all of the plans purchased through your affiliate links. For example, if someone gets the monthly plan, your commission rate will be $12.25.
If one of your readers decides to get the yearly plan after trying out the trial, your earning for that will be $117.50 off the bat.
But the best thing about this affiliate program is that the commission is a lifetime one. Therefore, each time one of your referrals renews their subscription, you’ll be paid the same amount of money. Most of the other options we have looked at by comparison offer you an initial commission that’s higher, but the recurring one is a little lower — but this one does not change with Teachery.
Pros and cons to being a Teachery affiliate
As you might know by now if you’ve been relying on affiliate marketing to increase your income for the past few years, there are always advantages and disadvantages to consider when joining a new program.
We’d say that when it comes to this one, there are more pros than there are cons. The lifetime commission is by far the most important one to take into account, so it’s probably the biggest reason why affiliates join the program in the first place.
Recurring commissions are pretty hard to come by, and the fact that the value of your earnings does not change for the future payments made by your referrals is also worth writing home about.
Depending on how you ‘sell’ the features of the platform, you might find that your readers may be less reluctant to try this one compared to others — and the reason we’re saying this is first of all the cost ($49 per month really isn’t a lot) and the extreme versatility of the interface and the control that people have over everything related to their courses.
The cookie lasts for 30 days, so it could have been better, but the recurring earnings definitely make things a little sweeter.
Perhaps the only potential drawback that we came across is that the only payment method now used by Teachery when it comes to their affiliates is PayPal. As you know, this platform can sometimes have pretty hefty fees and it’s also not available for everyone.
If somehow you get your PayPal account deleted for any reason by the company, getting another can be very challenging, if not almost impossible.
Teachery uses a NET30 system, so you will be able to withdraw your earnings only after a month of your referral’s subscription has gone by.
And while some other websites suggest that you can become a Teachery affiliate only if you are already using the platform, that’s actually a myth.
You do have the option of joining the program separately, but the application process is a little more difficult and potentially lengthy because you need to first read the terms and conditions and then send an email to us@teachery.co completely with your information.
Are there better options out there? Teachery affiliate program alternatives
If, for any reason, you feel that becoming a Teachery affiliate might not be an option for you, whether that be the payment method or something different, you should take a look at the following list.
Kajabi
This is another service that you can suggest to your audience and it comes with several different plans. To give you an idea as to how much they can cost, we’ll tell you that the basic one is billed at $149 per year.
What we would like to note about Kajabi, though, is that it does not come with the same versatility as the Teachery platform offers to their customers. It’s mostly geared toward individuals that want a place to host their courses and manage their marketing funnels, payments, and everything else.
The company’s affiliate program is pretty good, though, because it pays affiliates a 30% commission on all referrals made through their links — and that is a recurring earning for the entire duration of the subscriptions. The only payment method that we found is PayPal, which is something similar to Teachery. This one has a Net60 instead of a Net30 waiting period, though.
Teachable
We recently did a review of the Teachable affiliate program, so if you have some time on your hands, we strongly suggest that you give it a read. It’s basically the same thing that you can expect from Kajabi, especially in terms of commissions.
With this one, though, you can benefit from a 90-day cookie, which is significantly longer than the 30-day industry standard.
Podia
This is another platform that we plan on reviewing in the future, and the affiliate program might be another good choice for you. It’s not as well-known as some of the others we might have mentioned, but it’s pretty lucrative.
Although it does have a Net60 waiting period, Podia offers a 30% recurring commission to all affiliates, which means that with ten clients that pay $89 per month, you can make as much as $267 every month.
Unfortunately, this is another program that seems to be self-managed and that uses only one payment method — PayPal.

LearnWorlds
This online course management platform seems to be quite similar when compared to Teachery, at least in terms of features. It comes with literally everything anyone needs to not only build a course, but also organize it and manage it down the line.
As a LearnWorlds affiliate, you can make up to 30% in commissions for each referral you send out their way, but this is the same rate you will receive for renewals, too. The difference is that you get a 90-day cookie duration instead of the 30 days available with Teachery and you can also get your earnings in your Stripe account, not just through PayPal.
LearnDash
While we couldn’t find any specific info as to whether or not the commissions for this one are recurring, we will note that the rate is higher than pretty much all of the other alternatives that we have noted above — 35% out of every subscription made through your affiliate links.
The LearnDash affiliate program is also self-managed, so don’t expect to find the convenience of a separate affiliate network like Impact, FlexOffers, or even ShareASale.

Udemy
You can become a Udemy affiliate even if you have already built your own courses and you’re marketing them using your affiliate link. Needless to say, Udemy has a lot of experience when it comes to educational materials and all the perks and features you can expect in this sense.
But the biggest issue is that with this one, you do not have the option to get a domain and a free SSL certificate and manage everything through the platform as if it weren’t even there.
On the upside, Udemy does work with several separate networks, including Linkshare. Unfortunately, the cookie lasts for just 7 days and the commission is a flat 20% (not recurring).
