Some of the features that you will come across range from customer-relationship management and marketing automation to Facebook ads, SMS marketing, and more. Just to give you a clue as to how global Sendinblue is, we’ll note that they have offices across the world, from Paris to Seattle. 

According to the brand’s official website, they now have more than 300,000 users in more than 180 countries, more than 10 years of experience in the field, and the platform is in charge of sending out over 100 million emails every single day. 

What features can you recommend to your audience?

The features are actually categorized depending on what they can achieve for users. For example, the ‘Communicate’ section includes chat, email marketing, email API, and SMS marketing. 

The ‘Personalize’ section includes transactional emails, marketing automation, and a sales CRM while the ‘Convert’ feature lets users manage everything related to their Facebook ads, landing pages, and signup forms. 

In terms of pricing, there are four plans now available on the site. The Free one obviously doesn’t cost a single thing, but still includes 300 emails per day, customizable email templates, transactional emails, as well as a drag and drop editor. 

The Starter plan costs $25 per month and comes with the features from the first plan along with additional ones such as 20K emails per month, the absence of a daily sending limit, and email support. 

Next, we have the Business plan, billed at $65 per month that includes the previously mentioned features, along with marketing automation, the ability to add more users to the account, landing pages, and more. 

The largest option now available when it comes to Sendinblue costs $1,000 per month and is designed for enterprise clients. It basically allows users to send as many emails as they want. Moreover, they can enjoy extra features such as personalized support, excellent security, integrations with all sorts of other apps and tools, and more.

Things are actually pretty easy when it comes to submitting your application, but what we do have to note about this affiliate program is that it is not managed by a separate network. 

This can be a bit of a drawback for seasoned affiliates who have multiple websites and can’t handle the task of going on various sites on a regular basis to check on their performance and commissions. 

As part of the signup process, you will have to choose if you want to primarily promote Sendinblue products as a blogger or publisher, as an agency or consultant, or as a manager of an incubator or VC firm. Those are all the options you have available and they are actually different programs — the ‘Expert’ program, the ‘Blogger’ program, and the ‘Startup’ program. 

The registration form doesn’t ask you to fill out any sensitive information, so just basic things like your email, the site you own, and your first name and last name. Once you get accepted into the program, you will probably have to fill out some tax information, too. 

Another aspect that we feel we have to note here is that your account is placed under review immediately, but it only gets validated after you refer one paid subscription — afterwards, someone will look at your info and give you the green light. 

Although we did not come across any set of specific requirements, it goes without saying that you should not engage in any shady practices such as spam to promote Sendinblue products. This will most likely end up with you being booted out of the program.

This is the part that you’re probably most interested in if you’ve taken the time to do a little research on the Sendinblue affiliate program. 

Put simply, your commission is 5 euros each time someone creates any account on Sendinblue, including the free one. But if they decide to upgrade to one of the paid plans that we have already showcased above, your commission rate will become $100. 

The cookie duration of this affiliate program is 90 days, which is somewhat average when compared to what other companies in the same category are offering right now. If you take the time to read the section below, you’ll see that lots of other mass email services have programs whose cookies last for 120 days. 

Luckily, even though the program is self-managed, the real-time tracking feature seems to be working pretty well. You can check out your commission information and get a good idea of how you might be able to improve your performance in the long run. 

Since we’re also discussing earnings, we might as well note something about the payment. The only way to receive your money is PayPal, so it is up to you to determine whether that suits you or not. The payment threshold is $100, which is not bad considering that this is the amount of money you will receive when referring a user to a paid subscription. 

Pros and cons to being a Sendinblue affiliate

The first and perhaps most obvious advantage to becoming a Sendinblue affiliate is the commission. Although this is not a program where you get bonuses or a tiered structure depending on your performance, the fact that the brand pays $100 for every subscription referred is clearly a benefit in itself. 

The 90-day cookie is worth writing home about, too, given that the industry standard is 30 days. 

The platform is quite straightforward when it comes to giving you all the information you need, although we couldn’t help saying that we might have appreciated the program more if it was not self-managed. 

There are lots of networks these days that work perfectly and handle everything regarding the application process and that can also be in charge of the payment — and some of them can pay their affiliates not just through PayPal, but also through direct deposit, Payoneer, and other methods. 

So, some affiliates might consider the PayPal payment method a drawback, along with the fact that they can’t use a network for processing everything. 

Another benefit that is worth noting here is that you do not have to be a Sendinblue user in order to access the affiliate program. However, if you have some time on your hands and you want to create some content where you recommend the brand’s services, we strongly suggest that you check out their free version so that you know what you are talking about. 

Alternatives to the Sendinblue affiliate program

Constant Contact

This affiliate program is more or less similar to that designed by Sendinblue, and the reason we’re making this statement is that you can expect to earn pretty much the same amount of money. Whereas Sendinblue’s commissions are in euros, Constant Contact offers $5 on every free trial and $105 on paid plans. 

To make things better, Constant Contact’s affiliate program has a 120-day cookie period in place, which is significantly longer than what we’ve seen with other options. 

Everything is managed by Impact Radius or CJ Affiliate, so you will have to choose one of these two networks to sign up. 

GetResponse

We might have mentioned this program in some of our previous posts, but that’s because it is one of the highest-earning ones out there right now. GetResponse offers you a tracking cookie that also lasts for 120 days. 

In terms of how much you can expect to earn with this one, there are two models. You can either pick to earn 33% out of every paid plan’s subscription (and renewals) or choose the ‘get rich fast’ way and make $100 for every purchase made through your GetResponse affiliate links. 

GetResponse is one of the most popular marketing services right now, so your readers might also feel less inclined to skip your recommendation.

Moosend

The Moosend affiliate program might be a good fit for someone looking to diversify their income, but the rate is slightly lower than what we’ve seen before. They offer a 30% commission, but the greatest thing about it is that the cookie lasts forever. 

Their program also seems to be quite well-managed from what we were able to gather, so there will always be an affiliate manager there to help you in case you encounter a problem. 

AWeber

As one of the oldest companies in the email marketing game, Aweber is definitely a brand that people might have heard of, especially if they took the time to compare several different email providers. 

The brand pays you a 30% commission on all purchases made through your affiliate links. The rate starts at this threshold but it can actually go up to 50% depending on the number of users you refer to AWeber. This is a recurring rate, but only for a period of 12 months. 

One pretty nifty thing about this option is that the site comes with a plethora of resources for individuals looking to join the affiliate program. This is a self-managed program, though, so you are not going to encounter it on any other separate platform.

ActiveCampaign

To put things in perspective, though, we’ll say that ActiveCampaign offers a 30% commission on all purchases made through your affiliate links.

The cookie duration is 90 days, which is more than the 30-day standard, but still less compared to what other brands can give you (120 days, for example). Also, the 30% rate is the maximum one that you can expect in the sense that the base one is 20% and can be increased depending on your performance. 

Through the ActiveCampaign affiliate program, you can only be paid via PayPal (which can be both an advantage and a disadvantage). 

ConvertKit 

This one could be a good alternative if you’re looking to diversify your income, but you’re probably not going to get rich fast with it since the plans that the brand sells are quite affordable. Besides, there’s even a completely free version (for up to 300 users) that influencers can get at the beginning, so they might make a purchase later on. 

Your commission will be 30% on all of the plans, and that includes renewals. The tracking cookie lasts for just two months, though, so it is somewhat shorter when compared to others we’ve seen before. 

Other things worth mentioning is that ConvertKit pays its affiliates through LinkMink, a separate affiliate network, and that the only payment method available (from what we’ve gathered, at least) is PayPal.

Final thoughts

So, is Sendinblue a good option for you? Should you become a Sendinblue affiliate? These are two questions that only you can answer. Luckily, there don’t seem to be any limits regarding the amount of traffic or the number of followers you should have with this one.

Plus, you do not have to be a Sendinblue user in order to access the affiliate program, but you can get the free version anyway. We’d say that this is a fairly decent program on the whole in terms of commission rates, at least.
