Freshworks Affiliate Program Review
What is Freshworks?
Freshworks CRM is a type of software that makes it possible for people to manage everything related to their email marketing and a variety of other ways they utilize to communicate with their current and potential customers.
Some of the features that the CRM offers range from sales automation and marketing automation to actual customer engagement analysis and more. The sky’s the limit when it comes to business management, though, since Freshworks also comes in handy when it comes to chat and messaging, customer service, along with IT service management.
In other words, Freshworks CRM is an incredibly generous option for people looking to avoid as much hassle as possible, even if they’re managing their startup operations.
What services can you promote to your audience?
As a Freshworks affiliate, you will need to first do a little research on what the main Freshworks products are — before you decide to recommend them to your followers.
The company made things a little easier in the sense that all of the products have different names and are of course geared toward different tasks. For example, the so-called Freshdesk Omnichannel can be used to handle everything regarding the customer service side of a business.
The Freshdesk Support Desk is aimed at making the whole experience for everyone involved a lot better. The service makes it super easy for people to customize and prioritize their customer service reactions depending on whatever their users need help the most with.
As its name suggests, the Freshdesk Contact Center can be utilized for actual audio communication with customers (this service used to be known as Freshcaller). While not everyone might be crazy about voice AI capabilities, the tool definitely seems to be doing its job properly, at least based on the Freshworks reviews that we’ve come across.
There are a lot of other products that you should look into before deciding to join the affiliate program, such as Freshchat, Freshdesk Customer Success, Freshservice, Freshsales, Freshteam, and Freshmarketer.
The brand even made three of their most basic products available for free. For example, Freshsurvey can be used for measuring and analyzing customer sentiment along with employee engagement while Freshstatus is aimed at managing incidents as effectively as possible (thanks to a communication process). Another free service is called Freshping and can be used to monitor up to 50 websites from 10 different locations across the world.
Of course, when it comes to the Freshworks CRM pricing, all of the features that we have previously mentioned come with different costs — the reason for this is that every function is quite complex and not everyone might need a package that includes all of them.
To give you an idea, the Freshsales Growth plan is billed at $18 per month or $15 per month when billed annually. The Pro is slightly more expensive and costs $47 when billed monthly and $39 when billed annually.
Freshmarketer, which people might be interested in if they want to monitor their performance and keep in touch with a few thousands of their customers, is billed at $23 per month for up to 2,000 contacts (for the Growth plan) and $179 per month for up to 5,000 contacts.
Since Freshworks also does HR management, you’ll be happy to know that you can recommend such services to your audience, too. The Freshteam Growth plan is priced at $1.20 per employee per month and a $71 platform fee per month. The biggest plan in this sense is $4.80 per employee per month along with a $203 platform fee and it’s designed for Enterprise needs.
In a nutshell, these are the types of products and services you will need to do your best at convincing your audience to try out — and this is a general idea of how much they cost.
Joining the Freshworks affiliate program
We’d like to note that this is a self-managed affiliate program, at least based on the info we found about it. Otherwise said, you are not going to find it on an aggregator or separate affiliate network that will be in charge of communicating with you or paying you. Everything will be handled by the brand itself.
The interesting part about becoming a Freshworks affiliate, though, is that you’re supposed to be accepted into the program very easily, with just a few clicks.
You will of course have to fill out a form with some basic information such as your first and last name, your email, and your country, and we also suggest that you take some time to read the terms and conditions just to make sure that you are on the safe side of things and you don’t risk breaking any rules.
How much money can you make as a Freshworks affiliate?
Since this is one of the main reasons that marketers are always interested in joining an affiliate program per se, let’s look at how lucrative the Freshworks program can be for you.
First of all, you can earn $5 per lead even if one of your referrals strictly gets the free trial for any of the services that we have already mentioned. That’s not bad given that the Freshworks company doesn’t gain anything and that not all free users turn into paying customers.
On the other hand, you can also make a 15% commission for every single sale, whether that be a monthly payment or one for the whole year of using a specific service.
Another aspect that makes the Freshworks affiliate program stand out from the crowd is that the tracking cookie lasts for 90 days instead of the industry standard, which now stands at 30 days. As you will see in the second part of our article, there are some companies in the same niche that do offer 30+ cookie durations for their programs, but the majority tend to be fine with the 30-day standard.
Payment methods
The only two payment methods that are available with the Freshworks affiliate program are PayPal and Stripe. If you use any of these two, you can definitely consider yourself lucky. We couldn’t find any info as to whether wire transfers or cheques are accepted, though.
In terms of frequency of payments, you have nothing to worry about as they are calculated on a monthly basis and they are paid out before the end of the next month.
Everything is managed through Partnerstack, a platform that can be used for conversions and communicating with the affiliate marketers.
Pros and cons to being a Freshworks affiliate
As a part of our affiliate marketing Freshworks review, we thought we’d create a short section about some of the benefits and potential drawbacks that you can expect if you decide to use this opportunity as a means of increasing your side income.
One of the main reasons would have to be the commission rate, along with the fact that the cookie lasts for three whole months instead of one, which is common with many other affiliate programs.
And while Freshworks might not be the best-known brand in the industry for the services that it offers, it has built a fairly strong reputation in the past several years.
The frequency of payments along with the fact that you do not have to wait for a long time to get your earnings into your PayPal or Stripe accounts is another advantage.
As for the drawbacks, the commission could have been slightly better in our opinion, especially for the more expensive services, such as those designed for managing teams (human resources, specifically).
It would have been even better if the rate had been a recurring one, even if that would mean you getting just 5% out of what your referrals are paying each time they are renewing their subscription.
And in the end, the fact that you are paid $5 (even though that doesn’t seem like a lot) for every valid lead, even if your referrals only create a free trial account, still counts for something, doesn’t it?
Freshworks affiliate program alternatives
If for any reason, you believe that promoting Freshworks products on your blog or website doesn’t make sense for you, but you’re still interested in joining a somewhat similar affiliate program, here are some of the other options.
Zoho
We put together a separate review of this program, so if you want to find out more about it and you have some spare time, we strongly suggest giving it a read.
It’s not all that different compared to what you can expect with Freshworks, in the sense that the commission rate is the same, meaning 15%, and the cookie duration is the same 90-day period.
But the area where being a Zoho affiliate is a good idea is that you’ll get to earn 15% on everything that your referrals are paying for the duration of 12 whole months. So while it is not a lifetime recurring commission, it still pays for renewals for a whole year.
Pipedrive
When it comes to being a Pipedrive affiliate, the rate is a little better than what we have previously discussed since you can earn 20% out of whatever your audience is paying on the website.
Another good thing about the program is that the 20% rate is a recurring one, so no matter how long some of your referrals decide to continue using Pipedrive, you’ll still be paid for any of their plan renewals.
HubSpot
This is one of the best-known companies in the digital marketing space and while the services that the brand offers are absolutely stellar in terms of user experience and effectiveness, they’re also very expensive, especially for people who are starting their online businesses.
With HubSpot, you choose the way you earn. You can either get the flat rate where you are paid 100% of whatever your referrals are paying for their subscription for the first month of using the service or opt for the longer-term model, with you getting 15% in recurring commissions.
We’d also like to add that being a HubSpot affiliate might also make sense if you do not want to use PayPal to withdraw your money since another payment method exists in this case, too — bank transfers.
AWeber
Although AWeber’s services are somewhat limited when being put side by side with what Freshworks or HubSpot have to offer, for example, it’s still a very neat email marketing solution — and one that thousands of people across the world use every single day.
The best thing about the program is that the rate is a 30% recurring one, which means that this is what you’ll get each time one of your referrals renews their plan — for the whole duration of their subscription, even years from now.
EngageBay
In some ways, the EngageBay affiliate program can be compared to what AWeber has to offer strictly because what you can expect with this one is a 30% recurring rate. You’re also allowed to promote EngageBay services through a variety of means, including on social media.
The payout is made before the 5th of every single month and the commissions are generally approved before the 3rd. In other words, with this one, you will have to wait for just 30 days to have your earnings approved rather than have to do the same for 60 or even 90 days.
Final thoughts
So, does becoming a Freshworks affiliate make sense for you? We’d say that the earning possibilities with this program are somewhat decent, so it could be a good choice for diversifying your income streams.
Then again, you have to be in the appropriate niche to make sure that you’re getting a decent number of conversions, especially since the commission is not a recurring one.
